R-Crypto is a data protection utility that allows the user to safely keep its confidential data in an encrypted file-container that can be connected to the system as a virtual disk. You can access your data on such virtual disks as if they were on any conventional disks. It provides secure and reliable real-time data encryption fully transparent for the user and/or any program: it decrypts the data loaded from the disk and encrypts the data written to the disk on the fly. Its easy-to-use wizard-oriented and system-integrated interface makes all the necessary actions easy even for an inexperienced user without compromising in any way the security and reliability of data protection.
The file-containers for virtual encrypted disks can be stored on various media, including local and network hard drives and removable devices.
R-Crypto uses separate cryptographic service providers to perform all its data encryption /hashing /key generation operations. Those cryptographic service providers may be either those already built into the Windows operating system (like Microsoft Strong Cryptographic Provider and Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES Cryptographic Provider built into Windows XP, providing the most advanced and secure encryption algorithms like Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128, 192, and 256 bit key lengths), or obtained separately and installed by the user itself. This insures that only known and reliable implementations of cryptography are used.
R-Crypto features Easy-to-use interface

Access to disk control actions, like connection/disconnection, directly from the Windows shell.
Access to all disk actions from a tray icon.
Recent disk list that helps the user to find easily its recently opened encrypted disks. This list can be disabled.
File systems available for encrypted disks: FAT, FAT32, NTFS.
Safe and reliable data encryption and protection
Use of separate cryptographic service providers, either built into Windows or installed separately. The user can select such provider which is licensed for the use in its corporation or government institution.
Selection of hash and encryption algorithm. The user can select those that best suit its needs in data protection and system performance.
Hot keys to disconnect an individual disk or all disks
Automatic disk disconnection upon user log-off.
Automatic disk disconnection upon screen saver startup, system hibernation, and computer locking. (May be enabled/disabled.)
Forced disk disconnection if the encrypted disk is locked. (May be enabled/disabled.)
Encrypted disks can be connected as removable media to prevent access for remote users. (Windows XP and higher. May be enabled/disabled.)
Encrypted disks can be connected as write-protected.
Empty space on the encrypted disk can be encrypted.
